Mercy corps taking six youths to FIFA World Cup-2014

7 May, Dhangadhi: Six youths from Kailali, Kaski and Makwanpur districts are getting an opportunity to watch live the FIFA World Cup football matches to be held in Brazil in coming June-July.

Information about this was shared here today at a press meet organised the Mercy Corps, an international non-government organisation.

With the partnership of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the organisation is taking six youths from three districts to the FIFA World Cup 2014 under the Generation Amazing Youth Ambassador Project with a view to empowering the youth generation and bringing positive change in them through the means of sports.

The Supreme Committee, which has got a responsibility of organising the 2022 Football World Cup in Qatar is assisting the organisation to this end, according to Mercy Corps Nepal’s Nabin  Lamichhane.  It may be noted that eight youths belonging to the flood-hit settlements in Kailali had got an opportunity to watch live 2010 FIFA World Cup held in South Africa.
